Could have been the GOAT LAN party game with Gunfight, VIP Escort, Prop Hunt, and One in the Chamber modes, but Treyarch left system link buggy and barely functioning. This is the final COD to have working system link.
If you get stuck at the start menu with it asking for Gamepass (Xbox Live), there are two fix possible fixes. 1) if you see a popup window connecting to COD servers, then while it’s up, press X to go into offline mode. If 1) doesn’t popup or X doesn’t work, then 2) quit game and go to Xbox Settings, General/Network settings and go offline. Reopen game while in offline mode. The game will detect you are offline and go into offline mode. Once in the offline mode, keep the game open but press the Xbox Home button to go Home on Xbox and put Xbox back into online mode. Then go back to game.
There is a trick to starting the Offline lobby/game. Do not press ‘Create Your Match’ button until all players have joined your lobby. One player (“the host”) must press ‘REFRESH’ button after each player joins their lobby. Once everyone is in the lobby, “the host” will click on ‘Create Your Match’ and select mode and map to begin match.
